Lastes Warriors News
Stephen Curry has been playing great as a rookie so far this year. The Golden State Warriors knew they were getting a great basketball player in Stephen Curry, but they were not sure how much he would contribute right away. Well, Curry has been playing very well in his young NBA career and the Warriors are happy they held on to him. Curry has brought his sweet stroke he had in college to the pros, as well as his high basketball IQ and quiet demeanor. Also, now unfortunately the Warriors have lost Anthony Randolph for 7-14 days. The Warriors will be without PF/SF Anthony Randolph for a week or two due to a sprained left ankle. He has played in 16 games (1 start) this season for the Warriors and he is averaging 21.4 minutes, 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.1 blocked shots. This will hurt the Warriors as Randolph is one of the better players on the team which is already thin due to injuries. In other news, the Warriors beat the Indiana Pacers, Warrios 126, Indiana Pacers 107, on December 1. Monta Ellis was on fire for the Golden State Warriors (6-10) last night, leading them to an easy win over the Indiana Pacers (6-9). Ellis had a career high 45 points on 15-27 shooting, and easily would have had 50+ if not for a questionable offensive foul call that fouled him out of the game. He also added 5 rebounds and 5 steals while the Warriors crushed the Pacers in the 4th quarter by 17 points to make it a blowout. Ellis has been an offensive machine for the Warriors lately, as he had 42 points against the Spurs two games ago. C.J. Watson had a great game off the bench for the Warriors, giving them 18 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Danny Granger was the top player for the Pacers with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. The Warriors can definitely score some points, they just need to get better defensively before they can compete for a playoff spot. CJ.Watson now has the swine flu and is out for now. The Warriors will be without back up point guard C.J. Watson for a while as he has tested positive for the swine flu. Watson has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Warriors this season and he is averaging 15.3 minutes, 5.9 points, 0.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Warriors will really miss Watson as they need all hands on the deck right now. And now the worst news of all, the Warriors have now lost Kelenna Azubuike for the year. The Warriors have lost SG/SF Kelenna Azubuike for the season due to a torn left patellar tendon. Azubuike played in 9 games (7 starts) for the Warriors this season and he averaged 25.7 minutes, 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. He also was shooting the ball great this season hitting 54.5% from the floor. This injury combined with the trade of Stephen Jackson to the Bobcats will hurt the offense of the Warriors.
